Our heifers and yearling bulls graze on wheat pasture, with access to free-choice wheat hay. They are also hand-fed a small supplement to prevent bloat. Our aim is to grow, not fatten, our cattle. For the past six years, we have retained full ownership of the bottom end of our steers and heifers, feeding them out at the feedyard and selling them on a grid. This allows us to gather individual data on every carcass.
